One of the oldest and most prestigious programs in the country, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Georgia Tech has prepared students for careers in civil and environmental engineering for over 100 years. As one of the original degree programs offered by Georgia Tech in Southeast Georgia, CEE continues to balance a traditional engineering education with the latest in technological advances, educating a new generation of civil and environmental engineers prepared to meet the challenges of the future. The Savannah program includes a special emphasis on Engineering in the Coastal Environment.
Activities within Georgia Tech Savannah's Civil and Environmental Engineering department are focused on research in areas such as infrastructure design, analysis and performance; material characterization and response; non-disruptive technologies and tools; and spatial data integration and analysis. The department also offers academic and research activities with particular local interest, such as coastal processes and dynamics, environmental assessment and restoration, and historic preservation.
