Georgia Tech Savannah Cross-Registration Instructions
1. You must be enrolled for a minimum of three credit hours at Georgia Tech during the semester you wish to cross-register. To register a class at a partner institution while not enrolled at GT, you must contact the registrar’s office at the partner institution to enroll in classes as a transient student.
2. Prior to submitting your cross-registration application, review the Georgia Tech Transfer Equivalency Catalog at www.registrar.gatech.edu/transfercredit.htm to see how the course will transfer to Georgia Tech. Contact your academic advisor, Margaret Jenkins (margaret.jenkins@gtsav.gatech.edu), if you are not sure whether the course will apply toward your degree requirements.
3. Complete the cross registration application and submit it to Margaret Jenkins in PARB 151 prior to the GTS deadline.
4. You are responsible for clearing all holds prior to the end of registration; otherwise, you will not being cross registered for the term. If you have a hold cleared, you must notify Tammy Dennis (tammy.dennis@registrar.gatech.edu), the Georgia Tech Cross Registration Coordinator, that the hold has been cleared.
5. If the course you wish to register at a partner institution is restricted by major, permit, or pre-requisites, it is your responsibility to contact the department teaching the course to request the appropriate override. You are not guaranteed an override.
6.Registration will be on a space available basis. If the course is closed or otherwise not available, you will be notified via email.
7. It is your responsibility to verify your registration. Prior to the end of registration, ask your instructor if your name is on the class roll. If your name is not on the roll, you need to contact Margaret Jenkins before registration closes.
8. It is your responsibility to know the meeting dates, times and locations for your cross-registered courses. Classes at AASU, GSU and SSU may start before or after the GT term starts, so be prepared! 9. Once you are registered at a partner institution, a placeholder course (i.e., REP ####) will be added to your Georgia Tech schedule designating your cross enrollment. This course will be listed as audit and is only used for record keeping and fee payment purposes.10. Credit will be handled as transfer credit and will not be used to determine your GT GPA. However, credit will be considered as resident credit to satisfy the 36 hour regulation. Credit will be evaluated based on the equivalency table and published standard transfer policies of Georgia Tech.
11. YOU ARE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED FROM CROSS REGISTERING DURING YOUR TERM OF GRADUATION! If you choose to do so, you are required to submit your grade to the GT Registrar’s Office by noon on the Monday following Commencement. If you are unable to do so, you will NOT graduate until the following semester. Prior to submitting your application, you must ensure that your grade will be available by this deadline. (Note: refer to #8 above!) **Please notify Margaret Jenkins if you will be pursuing this option.
12. If you are a co-op student who would like to enroll at a partner school, you must apply to the partner school as a transient student via their admissions department. You are not eligible to cross-register during a co-op term.
13. You must drop or withdraw from a course by the Georgia Tech deadlines published online at www.registrar.gatech.edu/home/calendar.php. Once registration has closed, you must contact Tammy Dennis at 404-894-4953 or at tammy.dennis@registrar.gatech.edu to drop courses (or to withdraw completely); you will receive a grade of “W” on your transcript once registration is closed.
