Big cities aren't for everyone, but staying small doesn't mean you have to downsize your desire for a world-class education. Georgia Tech's Savannah campus provides the best of both worlds for students seeking the finest in engineering education but interested in a smaller community and more personalized, hands-on instruction.
With undergraduate and graduate programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, and mechanical engineering, Georgia Tech Savannah (GTS) offers students the same intellectual rigor found in the academic and research programs on the Atlanta campus, but from a burgeoning and beautiful coastal community.
Metro Savannah is home to nearly 300,000 residents and a home-away-from-home to over 6 million tourists a year. Drawn to the area for its natural beauty and the charm of a carefully preserved historic district, many are surprised to learn that Savannah also boasts a thriving, tech-savvy community—with over 350 knowledge-based businesses, 33,000 miles of fiber-optic cable, and a wireless broadband network covering more than 100 square miles. This convergence of art and technology has led to Savannah’s emerging identity as The Creative Coast.
Georgia Tech Savannah occupies a 46-acre tract within Savannah’s Technology and Engineering Campus. Only minutes from downtown, the campus is bordered by natural wetlands and is home to a number of native plant and animal species, including coyotes, foxes, and deer. Distributed across three buildings, the campus supports a bookstore, café, library, student lounges and study rooms, distance-capable classrooms, and more than 30 instructional and research laboratories.
Mission Statement: Georgia Tech Savannah will play an integral role in defining the technological research University of the 21st century by leveraging local assets and opportunities as part of a network of campuses and programs that educates the leaders of a technologically driven world.
