Virtual Collaboratory (Dr. Fathianathan, Dr. Choi, Dr. Schaefer)
The long term goal of this project is to establish a virtual collaboration framework that implements distance collaboration technologies so that IT-related researchers would have open access to and use of our distributed facilities. The objective of the virtual collaboration framework is to prevent tunnel vision and to share and gather knowledge on worldwide experiences with research and education innovation. In the near-term project, we will focus on the development of a web-based collaboration application. It includes multi-site online simulation tests, synchronized data exchange, and an automated archival website development which can be used to exchange course materials, software toolkits, etc. for engineers, teachers, and students.
