Community Involvement
Community Involvement

The mission of GT Savannah's office of Community Involvement is to increase public interest in and understanding of science, technology, engineering and math.

Through the development of campus programs and participantion in community collaborations, GA Tech seeks to support and encourage students, teachers and life long learners in their understanding and appreciation of engineering and related fields.

Campus programs include support for Lego League robotics teams, for ages 9-14; campus tours and workshops for high school groups; introductions to alternative energy technologies for consumers and schools; and introductions to engineering for high school students, as well as teachers of all grade levels.

Community based collaborations include the Savannah Engineering Academy, a five day summer program for high school students; the Savannah Science Seminar, an evening program for high school students which meets throughout the school year; and the Coastal Georgia Alternative Energy Alliance, which includes consumers, local vendors of alternative energy technologies, and Savannah Technical College.
