Key Forms and Waivers

The Key Form

1.      Print and fill out the Key Form. Leave unknown spaces blank.

2.      Submit the form in person to the GTS staff member who manages the space:

a.       Bobby Wellman – Instructional laboratories (including workshops)

b.      Bobby Wellman – IT spaces (including classrooms)

c.       Charlie Williams – All other spaces (including faculty research areas)

3.      At the end of each semester return key(s) to avoid a hold on student account.

 

           

The Workshop Forms

1.      Print out the Shop Key Forms.

2.      A faculty or staff member must sign the “request” blank at the top of each form.

3.      Submit the forms in person to Bobby Wellman in PARB 224.

4.      At the end of each semester return key(s) to avoid a hold on student account.

 

The Waiver Form

1.      Print out the Waiver form.

2.      Fill out information and sign.

3.      Submit the form in person to Bobby Wellman in PARB 224.

 

            

 

 

 

Keys and Access Policies and Information

Georgia Tech Savannah General Access

·        Students, staff, and faculty buzz cards access all GT Savannah campus buildings anytime day or night.

Student Access to Instructional Labs

·        Instructional labs are at times staffed by undergraduate or graduate teaching assistants for open lab hours. Search for the lab by name, room, or course on the instructional lab home page.

·        Eligible students enrolled in courses listed below may request a key to access an instructional lab after scheduled lab hours. Follow instructions above based on the forms needed.

·        Georgia Tech courses that may require key or card access outside of scheduled open lab or instructional hours

Instructional Lab Access and Key Policies

·        After entering or leaving a lab always close the door.

·        Lab doors should not be open at any time except during scheduled lab times when an instructor is present.

·        Students issued a key are not permitted to use that key to allow anyone other than themselves (including other GT students) access to the lab.

·        Students or friends of students without a key issued under their name are not permitted in lab rooms at any time.

·        At any time other than during a scheduled lab time or when a lab assistant is present all students in a lab must have their individual lab key in their possession.

·        Students must read and follow the Institute and GTS specific safety policies.

NOTE: Most partner buildings do not have around the clock access. Please abide by the partner institution’s policies and schedules.
